Microsoft visual studio is an integrated development environment for development using the .NET framework with support of other languages through visual studio addons. Most probably, the first question you ask is whether visual studio 2015 supports windows 7. The question is Yes of course. But it supports windows 7 service pack 1. Also, you may run into problems if your computer does not have .NET Framework 4.6 installed. You should install that first before trying to install Visual studio 2015 on windows 7 SP1. Another question would be, why use Visual studio 2015 when my visual studio 2008 or 2010 works just fine? It may seem like a good justification but this only appears a nice reasoning when you haven't used VS 2015. For a start, most of the updates that require to be installed for former VS versions come preinstalled. So it would save you alot of time trying to install MVC updates, Silverlight 5, among others. Another issue is that VS 2015 allows you to write apps for cross platforms such as windows, android, and iOS. This version allows you to think about developing for all platforms using your favorite language.
